I watched this series on apple tv today about a plane being hijacked and all the crazy chaos that ensued this event. There was this one scene where the plane flew over a city and some people where looking up as the plane passed by.
Inside the plane, absolute chaos, on the ground it was business as usual. No one any wiser as to all the events taking place at that very moment in the plane above them, the pedestrians probably just thinking, oh a plane, bit low maybe but nothing to see here.
This got me thinking, you know how we often just watch as people pass us by, on the street, at work, school or anywhere else really.
While we might be going on with our business as usual this person right next to you might be that plane, full of chaos. That plane, in this situation might even be you at this very moment.
Sometimes we are so caught up in our own drama, or even our own success that we fail to realize what is happening all around us.
Just think what it would mean to you as a person when your whole life feels like it is on fire and someone would just tell you “hey, God is with you”. What would it mean to you if someone had that obedience and courage to do something like that for you.
What if I told you that by starting to ask in prayer something along the lines of, God what can I do, instead of God do this for me… You too can be this kind of person. You can be that light that someone so desperately needs. Try to ask God what He wants, how you can be involved in His plan and to be tuned to His voice* and before you know it these things will be commonplace in your own life.
Next time maybe, just maybe when this proverbial plane passes you by, you will be able to know what this situation needs in that very moment.
May we all be filled with the Holy Spirit and do good to one another.
Hebrews 13:16
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
*John 10:27-28
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.
