Testimony – selling my house

Thinking back to when I sold my house, I had a monthly installment on it and couldn’t really fully afford it anymore, I had the house in the market for a while and not even one enquiry.

At the same time my work became really toxic and through long conversations with God I eventually quit my job and was in my notice period.

With all of this happening it now became crucial for this house to sell. So without a single enquiry for about 2 months, on this specific Thursday I was at home with flu. I went to the pharmacy and on my way back just as I turned onto my street I had a sense in my spirit that I need to put a for sale sign on my front gate. These days it is not as common to put a for sale sign on as most listings and ads are online so it was never even a thought for me.

Now my mom is an estate agent and obviously had a sole mandate on my house. Just as a side note I always had a sense that the house will sell at the right time and to the right people.

So back to the sign, I phoned my mom and told her I need a for sale sign. They where on their way out and said they can drop the sign off, very good timing right there. So having the for sale sign in my hand as I am walking to my gate to put it up. God asked me what result do you want from this sign? Me being me I responded, “With this sign, I want the house sold by tomorrow before 4pm and I also want cash buyers.” Cash buyers would mean that the house will be sold before the next installment, if it sold that Friday or at the latest the following Monday.

This all happened at about 10am on that Thursday. I kid you not, at 11am my mom phoned me and said someone had seen the sign and they want to come and look at the house the next day at 11. I still remember what I said… That’s great news, I think the house has just been sold.

So the next day when the prospective buyers came to the house it was as if it was already sold and we are just formalizing the whole thing. They went through the house, had a lot of questions about the house, but when they left I still knew that they would make an offer.

Just before 4pm that same day my mom phoned me and said they have made an offer on the house and without a lie, they were also cash buyers. We signed all the documents over the weekend and Monday morning the documents where submitted.

Now this is the power of God, 2 days before my next installment the house was registered to the new owners and instead of me paying another installment I received a fairly large amount of money. God did something amazing right there and then on that day with that for sale sign.

Someone once asked why does God always wait until the bitter end to do something, why is it always on 99? The answer they gave, if it was always done immediately it wouldn’t require any faith. How true is that!?

This is only one small story of where God came through, and I can tell you with absolute certainty that He has done it before, He will do it again!

Writing this really just makes me realize how we should always trust God and rely on Him, from the small things to the incredibly large things. In everything we do, God should always be the first stop, He should always be the steering wheel to any destination.
